Policies

When I first started Cup a Dee Cakes, I was blown away by all of the formalities, rules, contracts and up-tightness of other businesses like mine. After a year in business, I understand now why a lot of those policies exist. I truly just want to make it as easy as possible for my customers. I am here to make your life easier! That is my goal!

99.9% of my customers have been the most appreciative, nicest, honest people that I could have ever asked for. I want to be easy going and not “policy happy”, but I have been roped into putting out other people’s food at a wedding, sitting at a Chuck E. Cheese for 45 minutes waiting on my customer, and having my very first wedding cake payment BOUNCE! Those things are a very small price to pay for all of the smiles, thank-you’s and appreciation that I have received. But they have forced me to come up with some policies to protect my new little business that I believe are fair and standard to the industry.

I will be as understanding as I can, and bend rules if it’s the right thing to do. Please don’t take advantage of my time, and me because I would never do that to you!

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Wedding Cake and Large Catering Orders / Deposits

For Wedding cakes we require a $100 non-refundable deposit to reserve a date.  Please see our cake ordering page for more details.

For large catering orders a fifty percent (50%) deposit may be required at the time contract is signed.  Please see our Catering Ordering page for more details.

Wedding Cake and Large Catering Orders / Refunds

Customer must notify shop at least 30 days in advance of cancellation or postponement to receive refund of deposit, minus any costs caterer has incurred.

Cancellations of less than 30 days will forfeit the deposit unless management is able to book another client for that date, in which 25% of deposit will be refunded.

Other Cakes and Small Catering Orders Deposits

Any non-wedding cake or catering order priced over $100 may be subject to a 20% deposit at the time of the order. This deposit may be made by check or cash.

We ask for 7 days advance notice, prior to pickup date, on any non-wedding cake or small catering order cancellation. Any cancellations after this date will result in the loss of your deposit (if applicable, see above).

Inclement Weather

Our Responsibility:
As long as we have electricity, we will work to complete your order as planned. If we are unable to bake due to electrical outages, we will call you as soon as possible to let you know. We reserve the right to reschedule based on severe inclement weather.

Delivery
If we are unable to deliver your cake on the specified day due to icy roads or inclement weather conditions, we will call you to discuss other possibilities.

We will work with you to ensure a safe delivery or we can also reschedule if necessary.

In instances such as these, everyone's’ safety is our primary concern.

Customer Service Guarantee

Our goal at Cup A Dee Cakes is 100% complete customer satisfaction. We take pride in our products and services, and we look forward to exceeding your expectations every time.

If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with your order, please call me immediately at (706) 673-6706 and I will work with you to do whatever it takes to make it right.

I thank you for your assistance and patronage.

Non Sufficient Funds (NSF) / Check Policy

99.99% of our customers would never bounce a check on Cup a Dee Cakes, but since our very first wedding cake customer bounced her check, we have to consider that .01%.

Cup a Dee Cakes will be forced to impose a $25 surcharge on any Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) check received. This $25 fee will be in addition to any penalties that you may incur from your banking institution.

Delivery Policy

As of October 1st 2007, Cup a Dee Cakes will only deliver catering orders, wedding cakes, and large cakes that require setup at the site.  Wedding cake delivery is included in the price of most cakes.  For other deliveries we charge a nominal $10 delivery fee for qualifying orders within a 30 mile radius of the shop.  This easily covers the Greater Chattanooga, TN area all the way south to most of Calhoun, GA.

For deliveries outside the 30-mile radius, there will be a $1/mile charge after the initial 30 miles. Due to time constraints, we may not be able to accommodate extended delivery areas.

Delivery and Pickup Times
Please remember, we are a one-person shop! Jenniffer bakes, cooks, decorates, shops for supplies, does the office work and makes deliveries. Also, cakes are very delicate and should not ever get warm. We often book deliveries back to back, so it is very important that we are all on time.

When your qualifying order is placed, we will set up a 15-minute delivery and meeting window. Example: 1:00 -1:15pm. Please do not schedule us to be at the party site, unless you KNOW you will already be there. We will make every effort to be there on time or before. If you are late for your delivery, we will make every effort to wait. There will be a $1/per minute charge for us to wait after your 15-minute window of time. There are many instances where we CANNOT wait due to other scheduled deliveries. You will be responsible for the cost of your order if you do not show up or contact us.

We will make every attempt to contact you if we have encountered terrible traffic or any other circumstance that may keep us from making our appointed delivery time. This is a great reason to provide a cell phone number if you have one.

For customers that pickup their orders at the shop, the same 15 minute window would still apply.  If we have a delivery scheduled after your pickup window, we may have to leave the shop so that our next delivery is on time.  If you show up late and we are gone, we can reschedule the pickup for a later time if possible. This has not been a big deal in the past as we make every attempt to accommodate each customer.

Saturday PIckups:  All Saturday orders must be picked up before noon.
